Alex Ayers Audio Discography (1998- 2005 )
Although I released three albums worth of songs in 1996-1998, they are really horrible. While I have written a lot of songs, some of them really suck, but I think some of them are alright for a guy that plays by ear.

Song-a-Day (2002)
These songs were all written & recorded over the course of a week in August as self-imposed challenge. The resulting songs came out much better than I expected, but the recording quality is not great because I spent more time writing than I did mixing.

Summer Days (2002)
Although there are many things I’d probably change about this album now, I really like how it came out. This is the only album I’ve written to this point where I’ve actually gone back and listened to it the whole way through many times. My most personal album to date, and my most favorite.

Summer Days Rejects (2002)
Summer Days turned out to be an album with a story line, so when I finished recording, and sequencing it, there were a couple of songs that just didn’t fit the story line any more. These are those songs.

1.) 21 Years * (lyrics)
2.) Alone * (lyrics)
3.) Circle *
4.) Losing Focus
5.) Delta Waves
6.) Seasons Pass (lyrics)
Production Note:
During this period (1998 – 2001) period all songs were record on a Tascam analog 4 track, except “Yourself” which was recorded on a 2 track, and the “Electronic Sessions” which were create using a software sequencer.
Electronic Sessions (2001)
Way back when I started writing music in 1996, I was primarly writing noise pieces and really avant garde electronic pieces. I wrote these songs as sort of a, “remember when I used to write electronic music?”
* – Songs I recommend.
1.) Sleazy Robot Pick-up Lines
2.) 071401 (l) *
3.) Appollo11(landing)
4.) Electronic 1 *
Acoustic Sessions (2001)
Before I started recording “Summer Days,” I was looking for a new direction to go musically, and I recorded these songs. Listening to these songs now, it’s obvious that the lyrical content point to the direction that “Summer Days” took.
1.) Staring (lyrics)
2.) Something from Someone (lyrics)
3.) Abuse (lyrics)
4.) Backseat Friend (lyrics)
5.) Sparkle (lyrics)
6.) 5-o-clock (lyrics)
7.) Train (lyrics)
Ambient Sessions (1999)
I can only post a small clip of these sessions right now because they were 22 minutes in lenght each. Recorded in my garage using keyboards, trash, lawn mowers, guitars, pipes, basically anything.
1.) Ambient Session I (p)
2.) Session II
Concordia 220 Sessions (1999)
Probably two people have heard these songs prior to releasing them online. Recorded right after the release of “Hollow Tomorrow,” but never used on any albums. “How many times?” was played totally improv on a stand-up piano that was in Concordia’s basement.
* – Songs I recommend.
1.) Phoenix
2.) She (l2)
3.) How many times? * (lyrics)
4.) Untitled
Hollow Tomorrow (1999)
Some of these songs were recorded at my house during 1999, but a majority of them were recorded in my dorm room, Concordia 220, at UMass Lowell during my Fall semmester. This album is all over the place stylistically. This album suffers greatly from using poor microphones, not using headphones, poor recording equipment and really off tune singing. However, it was this album that really marked a turning point for my song writing abilties, even if a lot of these songs suck.

Live Band Sessions (1998 – 2005)
I once had a live band. We played a single show, disbanded, and I went back to the solo life. At the time I thought we were swell, but now I know we sucked hard.
1.) Untitled Jam (live)
Live from the Basement (2005)
These songs were recorded LIVE in my basement, and the only effect used is some reverb. They are stripped down versions of the original version. The only instrument used is vocal and acoustic guitar, no overdubs.
